JBJ focused on sharing the City of Dallas’s vision of the Convention Center Hotel project with key community individuals and stakeholder groups in the City of Dallas. This effort was important to garner support during the election referendum (Get out the vote) stage. Once this public/private project venture was fully approved by the voters JBJ partnered with MSW to provide M/WBE subcontractor outreach service.


JBJ worked to identify, screen, select, and engage M/WBE companies to be a part of the design and construction project team, as well as providing political strategies support.

Project Detail:

– Development Team was Matthew South West/Balfour Beatty

– Project duration 2008 to 2011

– $500 million budget

– 6 acres of development

– 1.12 million sq. ft

– 23-story building with an elevated pedestrian connection to the Convention Center 

– 1001 rooms plus meeting space and a 720-space parking garage

– Lead Gold facility


The results were the JBJ/Matthews Southwest partnership for this public/private project venture was fully approved by the voters.
